Sundays at Phillips
Finding God in Ourselves and Others
Worship 9:00-10:00 am
What is worship like at Phillips UMC?
Worship – Our worship reflects the gifts of God’s people; we all help to make our worship experience special. Worship begins with a welcome to guests, and greeting. Clothing styles reflect the diversity of worshippers from jeans to ties.
Music – We enjoy a variety of hymn styles. We’ve sung with guitars, piano, organ, JeffCO Brass, and our Phamous Phillips Philharmonic intergenerational band/orchestra. We LOVE all kinds of special music offered by our many talented musicians!
Children’s Message – The kids look forward to engaging our creative volunteers during the Children’s Message. Then they can choose to go sing songs with the Sonsingers. (See below)
Prayer – Our pastors receive prayer requests and pray for the church and world.
Outreach – Mission Moments encourage us to expand our awareness of service opportunities.
Message – Pastor Joyce generally offers the message of the day. She always starts with the scripture. The message may be include stories, songs, film clips, and occasionally may involve a “whole lot of people” as we tell the story of God’s amazing grace and hope together.
Communion – At Phillips, we share in communion the first Sunday of the month. ALL are welcome to participate!
