King Soopers
King Soopers Community Rewards Program
Phillips UMC is part of the Community Rewards Program offered by King Soopers. When PUMC members link their King Soopers loyalty cards to PUMC, King Soopers pays us 5% of what we spend. During each year and/or at the end of each year, we give the money to those in need. Sometimes we give to world or national causes, such as UMCOR, and sometimes to local charities, such as our own Phillips Family Fund.
To get a loyalty card, just ask at the Customer Service desk at any King Soopers. To link your card to Phillips UMC, visit the kingsoopers.com website. If you need any help, please feel free to ask Randall Voigt, who coordinates the program.
Oh, by the way: The late Bill Schlichting started the program in 1986, with paper gift certificates. From 1989 through 2011, the late Joni and Marion Ray managed the program, using gift cards. Randall Voigt has coordinated the program since 2011.
Also by the way: In 2019, King Soopers switched to using loyalty cards. Over the years, as COVID hit, people moved into assisted living, and some people left Phillips UMC, our yearly earnings dropped from $5,000-6,000 in 1986-2012 to $1,000 today.
*Special Note: $600 was given in October to UMCOR to US Disaster Response and Recovery, for relief from Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, Tennessee, and other states.
